"The Building of Global Empires" gives an in depth look at imperialism and how different motives and enabling factors affected these imperialized empires. For example, events such as the "Scramble for Africa" and the "Great Game" created a lasting influence on the region of which they were affiliated, making imperialism an important factor in the development of regions throughout history. In addition to the causes and reasons for Imperialism, the chapter goes in to detail about the effects that imperialism had on different peoples. For example, the rebellion of the sepoys changed the way the British ruled in India. Many other effects show how imperialism affected regions politically and socially on a global scale.
